This month I read the book called Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds. This story is about a kid named Will who is 15 years old. As the story goes on He finds out his brother Shawn has been shot dead. As he finds out he is hit with sadness, anger, and is overthinking. As in the story goes on it states,”now in wishing I would’ve laughed more at his dumb jokes because the day before yesterday, Shawn was shot and killed.” And as he gets older Will is always thinking about his brother. And thinking of killing the killer as his brother meant the world to him.

I recommend this book to others as Jason Reynolds shows how much imagery he shows to others, and his figurative language he tells in the story. All the characters all feel real as he shows us what Will, or his Brother looks like. Moving on the book Jason Reynolds perfectly shows how the characters change over time as changing personalities, and the maturity.

In this story I feel like Will is my favorite person in the story as he is the main character and he changes in character. Will also is a type of person who is selfless even if he is loving, caring, loyal, and wise. If he dies or not but others were not that type of person. I could prove this by this quote saying,”ANOTHER THING ABOUT THE RULES They weren’t meant to be broken. They were meant for the broken
to follow.”

my favorite quote in the story is on page 35 and on page 35 the quote says,”ANOTHER THING ABOUT THE RULES They weren’t meant to be broken. They were meant for the broken
to follow.” Since Will knows the rules he would know what comes next so Will gets the gun in his brothers drawer and heads out to follow the third rule.

My teacher has asked me to write about my perfect day and this is what it would be like. First I would sleep in my bed as the cold winter morning weather breezes in to me as I stuff myself in my warm thick blanket not worrying about school and other stuff. Then after at 11 AM I would eat my breakfast eating waffles, eggs, bacon, with syrup. As the food hits my taste buds I start to smile with ease. My friend asked me to come to his house to play soccer at the park. We did 2v2 games. All of us were dripping with sweat is it was a sunny hot day but after I went home and took a cold shower to cool off. But then most of my day I would just play games and listen to music on my PS5. But then at 6 o’clock I would go to the park again and just play at the park with the sunset being bright pink and being so beautiful. Then after my day today I would go to bed and listen to music as I sleep calmly as a kouala.

If I were to choose an age to be for the rest of my life I would be twenty-one years old forever. I feel like this would be the perfect age to be because you get more freedom in your life. At age twenty-one you officially became an adult so then you would be able to vote, buy properties, and drive a car whenever you want. Even though being twenty-one is hard like getting a Job, and going to college it’s still ok. When you become twenty-one you are in your prime, as like you become stronger and more muscular and you become more masculine as a man. And before then I was not able to try new things when I was younger but as you get older, you become more wiser, determined, and you become more dedicated to do more things. There are many more reasons to be twenty-one years old even though there are many downsides and good sides to it, but those are just the few.

“When are we going dad!?” I said excitedly. it was my sister’s wedding day! My family went to the LAX airport to Cancun Mexico as it was my first time going to Mexico. We landed at 1:24 AM. It was a 3 day trip. Even at night the weather felt very hot and humid as a sauna on for 15 minutes with the humidity made me very sticky. After the first day we went to the beach and everything was getting set up. Once everything was set up we went down to this stage and then my Sisters fiancé and her went down and danced her way to the music. Our whole family after the dance applauded and showed affection to her while eating our dinner. Then after our dinner we went outside to the DJ to have fun we all danced and it only played EDM songs. That was the perfect trip to be at then!

If I could live in any fictional universe, it would be Spider-Man I would love to be the Spider-Man as in helping the city from bad monsters, machines, and more! It would be fun to be a super hero and have people praise you for your rightful acts. while fighting all the bad guys its all good to be smart and responsible for all the bad guys your fighting as it shows on the quote,”with great power comes great responsibility.” Even though Spider-Man’s aunt and has a bad past, he goes through it and stays strong on what he has to do.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard 1st book by Rick Riordan

In September I am reading this book by Rick Riordan called Magnus Chase. Magnus Chase is a fiction book about a 16 year old boy named Magnus telling us about the time he died. On the back of the book it states “ever since that terrible night 2 years ago when his mother told him to run, he has lived alone on the streets of Boston.” Magnus always talks about how much people make fun of him, calling him names, and ignoring him. During that time his uncle and his mother told him that someone else was trying to track Magnus down and kill him. The book also states “she gripped my arms and made me look at her. Magnus, run. Hide. Don’t trust anyone. I’ll find you. Whatever you do. Don’t go to Rudolph for help.” This might show that Rudolph(Magnus’s oldest brother) might be looking for him or his mom is telling him not to trust anyone.

I really loved this book as this book felt super real and how Rick made the demigod’s powers felt real. Rick Riordan did a great job with describing the warehouse where you find out your powers and figure out if you’re a Demigod or not. Throughout the book there is much character development and the book reflects that greatly.

Throughout the book my favorite character was Magnus Chase, because he shows a great understanding of being courageous, and showing that you could change your ways of living and being responsible. Though his mother “died in a fire” he lived homeless after that but his mentality stayed the same. Still upset but stayed strong. I could prove this by this quote saying “by the way, I’ve been homeless for the past 2 years. Some of you may think, aw, how sad. Others may think, ha, ha, loser! But if you saw me on the street, 99 percent of you would walk right past like I’m invisible. You’d pray, don’t let him ask me for money. And “whatever I don’t need your sympathy. I’m used to being laughed at.

my favorite quote from this book was ”I hate this plan,” I said ”let’s do it.” I love this quote for this reason because it shows that even though he hates it and its risky but he is willing to do it to get it over with.

The thought of my favorite meal makes my mouth water and my mom always makes it for us. The meal my mom always makes for us is always tiet cho which is braised pork belly with marinated boiled egg, every time I eat it I always have water on the side to be hydrated. The reason why I always drink water with my food is because it is always salty. The reason why tiet kho is salty so that you would eat it with rice so that there is a perfect balance of flavor. Tiet kho has this thick layer of fat which makes the fat come out and mix with the sauce which gives the meat and the sauce more aroma and flavor. The egg is hard boiled and you let it marinate in some sort of sauce which gives it its color and its flavor to eat with the food. Every time when I eat this on my birthday or any day I am always excited and happy when she makes it. I cant wait for the next day when my mother makes this meal!

If I could build my own dream house I would love to have it down in Huntington Beach. I would love it down near the beach so that I could see all the boats, amazing view, and swimming in the beach. The house would be 2 stories hundreds of acres. My house would have 4 bathrooms/showers, 4 bedrooms with 1 guest room. It would have  a mini refrigerator, stove, oven, and many more! Inside there would be an office for my work and studies. Inside there would also be 2 washers and 2 dryers. I would have a dog and a cat so that it wouldn’t be boring in there. Outside in the back yard I would have a soccer field so that I would practice without driving down to the park. I would love for some of my friends to live near me dos that we could swim, play soccer together, and hanging out together.

If I could travel anywhere On our planet earth I would love to go to Rome, Italy! In Rome I would love to see all the artifacts, column’s, statues like the beautiful historical colosseum, the Trevi fountain with the beautiful water and the history about the water, and most importantly the food! There are many great choices like Pasta, risotto, Pizza Margherita, gnocchi, Fettuccine and many more! Every time I look on YouTube I get mesmerized from the beautiful artifacts, great people, and many more!

Hi, my name is Jayden. Welcome to my blog. Allow me to introduce myself. I am a 7th grader in middle school in Santa Ana, I have a brother who is 26 years old right now and a sister who is married at 30 years old. My brother got his masters degree at Cal State Long Beach, and my sister graduated in UCLA with her batcholors degree. I play soccer on a flight 1 team. My favorite hobbies are swimming, soccer, and hanging out with my friends Max, Ethan, Dominic, and Christian. At school my electives are Robotics and Wood Shop which is very fun to do at school. For robotics we are building our bot for our tournament in November. My goal for robotics is to get to state, and possibly worlds in our tournaments. But in wood shop we are going to be currently making a jack-o lantern before Halloween. But at home my Dad got his masters degree in engineering for San Luis Obispo and my mom got her bachelors degree at Cal State Long Beach. At Home I also really like to play video games like rocket league, fc 24 many kinds! My sister also has a baby but the baby died while being born.
